Raqs Saidi is a vibrant 6-week journey into the heart of Egyptian folklore, with a focus on Raqs al Assaya—the art of dancing with the cane. You'll explore signature Saidi steps, musicality, and technique while blending influences from Saidi Tahteeb, Ghawazee, Baladi, and Raqs Sharqi.

Using a straight stick (no crook), we’ll dive deep into cane integration, combining grounded folkloric movement with Saidi stylization and characteristics. Each class includes theory and improv sections to help you connect personally to the music, movement origins, and expressive possibilities of this powerful and joyful style.
